Today promises to be a busy day. We saddle up and head out to our first stop, the I Selvatici winery.. After a long ride through picturesque Tuscan wine country, we arrive at what, compared to the Castello di Verrazzano, is a rather nondescript group of buildings. We are soon the learn, however, that appearances can be very deceiving!

Well, Valley Scooter of Washington/Westenders Tour di Mari 2 is now officially history. For three delightful days, scooterists from as far away as Canada mixed, mingled, rode, bowled, ate, made new friendships and renewed old ones. With the generous support of their Title Sponsor and many other kind supporters, the Westenders Scooter Club has put on another great really for the 2009 riding season!

Today is our first full day of Vespa touring in Chianti! Since we had a little bit of time before meeting the others at the corner cafe across from Hotel Vignale, we took some time to explore the immediate area around our own accommodations.

Hamster Run III was a big success! Those SOB's sure know how to throw a rally!
No, these aren't hamsters on a hillside, just a few of us that rode up to the rally together via Whidbey Island taking a break at Deception Pass.

Joni "Jett" James gets ready to grab a handful of clutch as she rides in the Burien Hometown 4th of July Parade. Joni reminds me of one of the "super-heros" we all idolized in our youth :)

Scootering is definitely a gas! Hairy and doc are checking out the scooter garage thoughtfully provided by the West Seattle community during the First Annual Sustainable West Seattle Festival. Great place to park, Hairy!
