The fifth iteration of R2DQ (Ride to Dairy Queen) is now history, and everyone agrees that it was quite probably the very best yet of a series of great ride events! Despite threats of rain (which very considerately confined it's activity to north of the Ship Canal), attendees enjoyed good weather, a wonderful ride, and a swell BBQ with games and prizes as well!

There are many reasons why scooter clubs go to the time, expense and work to put on a rally. One of the main reasons is to say 'thank you' to all the other clubs who put on rallies that have been enjoyed. So it is with the Westenders; we set out to put together a nice little rally that other scooterists could come and enjoy, and ended up throwing a three-day party that completely exceeded our wildest expectations, and perhaps those of the Pacific Northwest scootering community as well. Here is our story:
That time again! "Scooter Nights" this Wednesday at the Tiger Lounge (412 South Orcas St.) 7pm - ? Great food, music, drink specials and cool video! Be seeing you!
One of the most exciting bands on the Seattle music scene is without a doubt the innovative lounge/pop band Laguna! Not only are they friends of the Westenders Scooter Club (they will be playing at the Tiger Lounge on the Friday of Tour di Mari 3), but they have been very busy performing and promoting their exciting new CD, "Volcano"
To help promote new menu items as well as the Spring opening of their outdoor dining area, Tour di Mari supporter Cafe Revo held it's first annual Spaghetti Harvest Festival this weekend!
Please join us in congratulating Westenders Top Chef GrumpyGus and his 2010 Seattle MS Walk Team, "Team One Step Beyond" with their successful completion of the MS Walk. GrumpyGus formed and led Team One Step Beyond across the finish line this Sunday, and they raised over two thousand dollars to support the research and other services provided by the National Multiple Sclerosis Society! As TOSB approached the finish line at Husky Stadium, a party of Westenders lined up their scoots along the route to provide cacophonous support by blasting their horns as the Team went by!
And TOSB wasn't the only Westender team fighting the good fight this weekend! On Saturday, Westender Angela walked in the MS Walk in Olympia, and did a wonderful job raising money to fight MS! As successful as our Westenders and the other MS walkers may have been, the battle against Multiple Sclerosis goes on. Please help assure eventual victory with a donation to Team One Step Beyond by following this link!, and TeamAngela by following this one!
This beautiful rebuilt 200cc motor is destined to be installed in a Vespa P200 being restored as the Grand Prize in this year's raffle at "Tour di Mari 3: Riding Down to Brighton". Some lucky scooterist is going to win this classic Vespa, and it could be YOU!. Be sure to check this website frequently for updates and information on the Rally!
