Every now and again a new scooter comes along that really gets your attention, and the new La Vita 150 from Hammerhead Powersports will definitely be one of the 'it' scooters of 2010! A real standout in the crowd of 'me-too' modern-styled twisties, the La Vita gives you classic styling paired with a proven powerplant, front AND rear disc brakes (!), and a two year warranty. A fantastic value at appox. $2500, the La Vita is available exclusively in Seattle at Scoot About! on Westlake. Offering scooter rentals, sales, and featuring an in-house service department, Scoot About! is your 'one-stop shop' for all your scootering needs.
Join us on Saturday, February 27 for a group ride to the Seattle debut of this exciting new machine! Test rides will be available, and refreshments will be served. Meet at C&P Coffee in West Seattle (5612 California Avenue SW), and we'll depart at 1pm for a 'slow & stately' (family & beginner-friendly, 50cc welcome) scenic group ride to Scoot About! We hope to see you there (if you're new to riding with us, or new to group riding in general, please be sure to check out our Riding Protocols)!
UPDATE: While we've really lucked out on our last two rideouts, the weather tomorrow looks iffy. If it's raining, the meetup at C&P will be cancelled, and we'll meet at Scoot About at 2pm instead.
Probably the definitive scooter movie of all time, Quadrophenia features a fantastic soundtrack by The Who, and tells the story of one young man's struggle for identity during the 'mods vs. rockers' conflicts of early 1960s London. Join your friends at the Tiger Lounge (412 South Orcas Street) for a showing of this film in a perfect setting, courtesy of DJ Vodka Twist! Showtime is 7pm, so be sure to come a little early if you can to place your orders for Tiger Lounge's delicious pizzas, sandwiches, and appetizers (not to mention Miss Cleo's drink specials).
Don't miss this special edition of Westenders Wednesday at the Tiger Lounge! Ciao!
BREAKING NEWS! Tiger Lounge receives nice review in the Stranger. Check it out here!
The Bakery Ride was so much fun, that we couldn't resist getting in another great ride this month, and you're invited! Westender Click has mapped out a wonderful country ride to Snoqualmie Falls, and the weather is projected to be lovely! Here are the details:
When: Sunday, February 21
Where to meet: Come to C&P Coffee in West Seattle (5612 California Avenue Southwest, official West Seattle coffeehouse of the Westenders SC). We will leave at noon sharp. This is a long and fun ride, and the Westenders do not do 'scooter time'. Have you and your scooter fueled up and ready to go at noon!
Regrettably, while this ride is family-friendly, it is not appropriate for scooters 125cc and under.
This is also a rather long (80+ mile) ride, so figure your day's plans accordingly.
If you're new to riding with us, please review our Riding Protocols (click on the 'about' tab). See you on Sunday!
It's that time again! Westenders Wednesday, 2/10, 7pm-? At the Tiger Lounge (412 So. Orcas St.)! Looks like good riding weather, so come on down and hang out with your fellow scooter peeps and get the inside scoop on what's happening with Tour di Mari #3 and the restored P200 prize scooter! Enjoy Chloe's drink & food specials and groove to the tunes of DJs Vodka Twist & Ace Face! See you there!
PS: We'll have a copy of the latest issue of "Scootering" available; check out their world premiere review of the LML Star 4-stroke (the "Stella" here); the early word is that it's good!
