Busy weekend for the Westies, as the scooting season kicks into high gear!
On Independence day, a large group of us descended on Fuzz & Jules' home at Angle Lake to take in the community 4th of July fireworks show. There we mingled with Fuzz & Jules' large and delightful crowd of family and friends and enjoyed a wonderful evening of food, friendship and fun. Resident alchemist Rudy the Rat was on hand with yet another astonishing libation called Hot Monkey, which had more than one Westies palate dialing 911! The fireworks show, which was partially funded by the city of SeaTac, was an excellent display made doubly so by our close proximity to the fireworks as they went off; you could really feel each detonation in your gut! As an added bonus, when it was all over, we didn't have to sit in traffic for hours trying to leave, unlike the multitudes who gathered around Lake Union for the big Chase show!
But the fun wasn't over yet, not by a long shot. It would seem there's simply no rest for either the wicked or the Westenders! Westender SAM was celebrating a milestone birthday, and the Westies were asked to help make her day special by taking her for a ride (literally!). The swarm met at C&P Coffee, then swooped down on her Fauntleroy home. It was a real treat to see the look on SAM's face when she was confronted by a cacophonous crowd of horn-tooting scoots in her driveway and front yard, asking if she could come out and play! The swarm whisked SAM away for a ride that included a photo stop at Three Tree Point, and ended up at the Alki Bathhouse, where a birthday extravaganza was awaiting her! As guests of this milestone b-day party, the swarm enjoyed delightful food, beverages, and a live Hawaiian band!
All in all, it was a great end to a great weekend! One can scarcely wait for the next adventure!
