For those of you who are viewing this page from locales other than the Pacific Northwest, especially our new friends worldwide (thanks again, Scootering!), the Seattle area has been in the grip of a period of snow and subfreezing temperatures for a near-unprecedented length of time! In the Westenders home turf of West Seattle, we've seen snow up to 6" deep, which has thrown a major monkey wrench into people's holiday plans! Any travel on the roads is difficult, and all but impossible for a scoot. Except for this fellow! This redoubtable Stella and its owner have been seen all over West Seattle, even navigating California Avenue in the middle of a snowstorm!

For the rest of us, here's a little chuckle to get you through this Big Chill. From 1984 to 1999, Seattle TV audiences were delighted by the antics of a local sketch comedy troupe that would skewer Seattle and Seattleites every Saturday night on "Almost Live". Thanks to the magic of YouTube, we can now enjoy the best sketches again, like these two!
