The Westenders adventures continued on Sunday with an absolutely stellar ride mapped out and lead by our own Bodhi, who is also the freshly-elected Ride Coordinator for VCOS. Based on the Fabulous Fall Foliage & Farmland Tour, the citizens have made a perfect choice in appointing him to that position.
Bodhi ordered perfect weather for the day; the sun was up early in the clear blue sky and the air was dry and crisp but not too cold for a long ride. More than a dozen scooters gathered early at Cafe Racer and departed around 10:30 AM.
A few miles North, we scooped up Doc and Tiny who had been awaiting our drive-by. They joined the caravan and we continued our route.
The foliage was in peak spectrum and the sunshine coming through the leaves was absolutely beautiful. We rode along curvy farm roads with no cars, and every once in awhile the scooters at the front would disturb a settled pile of leaves, tossing them up into the air and creating a golden swirl for us to ride through.
We made a few stops for food and fuel, then continued at our healthy pace through Snohomish and the scenic countryside to Granite Falls.
I decided to head back before the final leg of the tour, and Doc was returning as well, so we enjoyed a hearty lunch and he and Tiny lead the way home. Doc is a blast to ride with, and I can't believe the amount of juice he gets from his P200. He left Aphrodite and I in the dust a couple of times, and we were both riding 2-up.
It was a colorful day and one of the best rides I've been on. Kudos to Bodhi for setting up such a great day! Hopefully we'll have some more photos soon.
