Westenders whoop it up at the Festa!
Last weekend, the Westenders enjoyed a foray to the annual Festa Italiana at Seattle Center. Festa Italiana is a weekend-long celebration of Italian food, wine, music, dancing, and culture.

We started our day by meeting at C&P Coffee, and rode out together to the Festa. We had been invited by the Festa organizers to display our Italian Scooters at the site. On the way to the Festa, we passed the soon-to-open Cafe Revo, owned by Westenders Chano & Pinky. They've just finished the beautiful mural of Zetta on her scooter.
Once established at the Festa, the Westenders spead out and explored and enjoyed depending on their interests. Some of us repaired to the wine garden to enjoy some fine vino Italiano, others sampled the excellent cuisine. Some perused the wares offered by exhibitors. Later that afternoon, several of us went to the nearby cinema, where Festa Italiana was screening the classic Italian black comedy "Mafioso". It was a fascinating film which we all enjoyed.
In a scene from "Mafioso", Antonio sings with joy for his homecoming to his native Sicily. The joy is short-lived, as he his called upon to do a 'favor' for the local don.
All in all, it was a lovely day, and a great way to enjoy what has been a superb Seattle 'indian summer'!
