The Westenders have a ride this weekend! Non-members are welcome on this ride, but please review our Riding Protocols. Our ride, our rules.
Operation Southern Sweep
Westenders head south to Tacoma and NW Motorscooters Poker Run for fun and swag!
Date: Sunday, April 6, 2008
Ride Leaders: TacomaBob & RogerTango
Notes: This ride is 50cc and family-friendly.
Agenda:
- 09:00 - Meet at C&P Coffee in West Seattle for coffee and whatever breakfast you wish. directions
- 09:55 - Ride to the Fauntleroy ferry and cruise over to Vashon (10:25 ferry).
- 10:45 - Meet our scout/guide TacomaBob at the dock, and enjoy a lesiurely ride to Talequah (12:25 ferry) We are giving ourselves plenty of time, so we don't need to make a mad dash down the Island to catch the ferry that is 'paired' with the one we arrived on. We will give ourselves a 1 - 2 boat 'cushion'
- 12:35 - Arrive Tacoma/Pt. Defiance. Enjoy Pt. Defiance Park's "5 Mile Drive". Stop at area gas station to top off tanks and take care of potty needs.
- Be at the NW Motorscooters at or before 2pm. Participate in the poker run and win lots of swag (everybody be sure to rub Click for luck beforehand ).
- Chow down at NW Motorscooters BBQ after the run.
- After having eaten our fill at the BBQ, we'll load our scoots with all the swag we won, and looking like Norsemen returning laden with plunder, lesiurely make our way back to Seattle (probably along the old STAB route).
The Poker Run is hosted by a new scooter shop, NW Motorscooters. This is the first time and there is no history or track record with this event, so we can't tell you in advance how much riding this entails, and whether the event will be a lot of fun or a bust. You'll just have to ride down with us and we'll find out together. All we're guaranteeing is a fun ride to and from the event. The rest is gravy.
Non-member scooterists are welcome to join us on this ride, but we ask that you review our Westender Riding Protocols. You will be expected to abide by these guidelines.
This will be a long day with a lot of riding. A long ride in poor weather isn't much fun, so if the weather doesn't look good, we will post a go/no-go message on the Website no later than 08:00 on the morning of the event.
